VC 58, West Forest 51

TIONESTA — Venango Catholic's Ben Guth reached the 1,000 career point plateau en route to leading the visiting Vikings to a 58-51 win over West Forest in KSAC North play.

Guth scored a team-high 17 points and reached his milestone by driving from the top of the key and making a layup with 5:02 left in the fourth quarter. The senior also contributed 20 rebounds for the Vikings, who are 11-9 overall and 5-5 in the division.

"I'm proud of Ben he's worked very hard, it's a big accomplishment for him and his teammates and I'm happy for him," Venango Catholic coach Ed McIntyre said.

Garrett Hawkins scored 14 points for the winners and Matt Kuhn added 11.

West Forest's Drew Sneeringer had a game-high 22 points and 11 rebounds for West Forest. Dalton Silvis contributed 10 points and 10 rebounds and Shaylor Bemis also had 10 rebounds.

Venango Catholic will return to the court Monday when it hosts East Forest while West Forest will visit Clarion the same day.
