VC academic team in Hometown High-Q semis

The Venango Catholic High School Academic Team won its KDKA Hometown High-Q quarterfinal competition and is moving on to the semifinal. The semifinal round will be shown at 11 a.m. Saturday on KDKA. Venango Catholic students competed against Pittsburgh-area teams from West Greene and Albert Gallatin high schools. The Rev. John Malthaner, headmaster at VC, is pictured here with Aquila Lesko, Jake Smith, Ryan DeLaney and show host Ken Rice. The team is coached by Nancy Hoeft. Alternates are Max Dudzic, Luke Ziegler and Mora McLaughlin.
