OC Kiwanis honors scholarship winners, Hugh O'Brian seminar participants

Leadership Seminar participants, Mary Mehlburger of Oil City High School and Joseph Lillard of Venango Catholic High School [middle two students] with Kiwanis member the Rev. Thomas Phillips.

The Oil City Kiwanis Club hosted the club's two scholarship recipients at its last two luncheon meetings.

The Kiwanis Club, as it has done for many years, sponsored the attendance of two high school sophomores at the annual Western Pennsylvania Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Seminar.

The two students who participated in the leadership seminar this year were Mary Mehlburger of Oil City High School and Joseph Lillard of Venango Catholic High School, and they are the middle two students in lower photo. They are pictured with Kiwanis member the Rev. Thomas Phillips.

Money to pay for the scholarships and the Hugh O'Brian seminar participation is raised by the Kiwanis Club through a number of community endeavors. The goal of the club is to sponsor as many projects and activities as possible that help young people.
